Copywriting Resources: Who would YOU recommend?
In the world of marketing, we like to bandy around jargon.
We just can’t help ourselves. It’s in our nature.
And one of those naughty words is ‘social proof’.
But what is it, and how does it work?
The power of social proof was popularised by Cialdini in his book ‘Persuasion’.
It is defined as ‘a psychological phenomenon where people assume the actions of others in an attempt to reflect correct behaviour in a given situation’.
Which means, in short, that we look to others as a guide to our own behaviour.
And this is why testimonials and case studies are so important to your business.
People see other people raving about you, and they want a piece of the action too!
Of course, it shouldn’t just be any testimonial. The ones that work best are the ones that tell us about a result or goal reached.
How your service transformed their life for the better or at least provided the solution to a problem.
That’s why I was delighted to have my course ‘The Utterly Compelling Email Copywriter’ included in Chelsea Baldwin’s video listing her top 3 copywriting and proofreading courses that helped her become the awesome businesswoman she is today.
You can find out what her other two courses were, plus the three books she also recommends at the link here.
Meanwhile, I thought I’d also share with you some of my favourite books that helped me become a better copywriter.
